The role of serotonin in the development of aggressive behavior in people who have consumed alcohol is addressed. There is substantial evidence for a connection between aggression and serotonin deficiency, as well as aggression and alcohol consumption, and it is well established that alcohol consumption has a significant impact on serotonin metabolism. These connections are put together in the serotonin deficiency theory of alcohol-induced aggressive behavior, which proposes that people who are prone to violence after drinking have a significant drop in brain serotonin, making them more aggressive in response to environmental or psychological triggers or circumstances.

I agree with the conclusions as I have personal experience with alcoholics who have gotten significantly more aggressive after they started drinking alcohol. They also became a lot more depressed and struggled to find joy in life, which is understandable as their serotonin levels dropped.
